Due to ongoing business success we have a fantastic opportunity for Property Lawyers to join our growing team at Simply. The role of the Property Lawyer is to manage residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion, providing clear, timely and professional legal advice to clients, estate agents and other stakeholders. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to deliver an exceptional customer experience, ensuring matters progress efficiently and in line with regulatory and firm standards. We want someone who is confident in their technical conveyancing knowledge and passionate about delivering outstanding service. The successful candidate will be methodical, commercially aware and an excellent communicator, able to explain complex information clearly to clients and partners.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Managing a caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases, remortgages and leasehold work.
- Conducting pre‑contract enquiries, title investigations, and advising on covenants, easements and other title issues.
- Preparing and reviewing contracts, transfer deeds, certificates and related documentation.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, surveyors and other third parties to progress transactions to completion.
- Undertaking anti‑money laundering checks and complying with regulatory and firm risk procedures.
- Providing clear updates to clients throughout the transaction and ensuring a high standard of client care.
- Supporting junior fee earners and contributing to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting on instructions and taking appropriate steps to protect clients’ interests and manage risk.
- Drafting and negotiating contract terms and applying relevant law to practical client situations.
- Managing completions, transfers of funds and post‑completion tasks such as registration at the Land Registry.
- Using case management systems to keep accurate records, chase outstanding items and meet targets.
- Identifying potential problems early and escalating or resolving them in a timely manner.
- Participating in training, process reviews and system improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Providing cover and support across the conveyancing team when required to maintain service continuity.
What we will need you to have:
Essential
- Qualified solicitor, licensed conveyancer or just great experience in residential conveyancing.
- Proven experience handling a variety of conveyancing matters, including sales, purchases and remortgages.
- Good working knowledge of Land Registry processes and title documentation.
- Strong client care skills with the ability to communicate complex legal information clearly.
- Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a risk‑aware approach to work.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and case management systems; willingness to learn new technology.
Desirable
- Experience in leasehold and new build conveyancing.
- Familiarity with common conveyancing portals and case management systems.
- Previous experience working in a high‑volume conveyancing practice or legal panel environment.
