We are currently seeking a dynamic Physics Teacher (KS3 & KS4) with the ability to teach Maths to join our stellar academic community at The Chalfonts, an ‘inspirational independent school’ in High Wycombe.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, we deliver the IB Middle Years (IGCSE-equivalent) and Diploma (A-level-equivalent) Programmes. Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Deliver engaging and inquiry‑led KS3 and KS4 Physics lessons aligned with the IB Middle Years Programme and IGCSE‑equivalent frameworks.
  • Support existing Maths provision—teaching Maths as required to complement the Physics curriculum.
  • Foster students’ critical thinking and scientific reasoning through hands‑on, discussion‑rich lessons.
  • Create and administer assessments aligned with IB standards and provide constructive feedback.
  • Cultivate a positive, stimulating classroom environment in keeping with the Harkness method ethos.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong expertise in Physics and the capability to support or teach Maths at KS3 and KS4.
  • Holds relevant teaching qualifications (QTS/PGCE) or a degree in Science/Physics (Mathematics welcome).
  • Is an outstanding classroom practitioner—creative, reflective, and student‑focused.
  • Demonstrates strong planning, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt within an IB‑inspired learning environment.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm, empathy, and the drive to inspire confident, independent learners.
