Join our People & Talent Team at thebigword as our next HR Apprentice, where you’ll play an active role in supporting a truly global organisation. This opportunity is designed for someone who has already completed a Level 3 HR apprenticeship (or equivalent), and is ready to confidently step forward into their Level 5 qualification. We anticipate the successful candidate will start on or after 27th April 2026, dependent on notice periods.
You’ll be part of a fast-paced, friendly, and highly collaborative team where no two days are the same. As we continue to deliver a world-class employee experience across multiple regions, you’ll have the chance to develop meaningful HR skills while contributing to real business impact.
Your Role in Action
- Providing day-to-day HR administrative support to the People Team, managers and employees
- Assisting with onboarding, probation management, training coordination, and employee queries
- Supporting the delivery and tracking of key People initiatives, policies, and processes
- Coordinating ER-related documentation, meeting notes, and follow-up actions
- Maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with systems, processes, and audit requirements
- Assisting with HR reporting and People MI
- Collaborating with our People Team and Specialists across the UK and India to support wider People projects
- Playing a key part in building an inclusive, positive, and engaging employee experience
This apprenticeship provides structured development aligned to Level 5 standards, supported by real-world exposure and mentoring from experienced HR professionals.
The Perfect Match: Your Skills & Talents
- Completed Level 3 HR Apprenticeship (or equivalent qualification)
- Practical HR experience — either through an apprenticeship, HR administrator/coordinator role, or equivalent exposure
- A strong dedication and commitment to the Level 5 HR Apprenticeship
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality written and visual materials, including internal communications, presentations, proposals, and email content.
- The ability to build relationships and provide great service to employees, managers, and senior leaders
- Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn
- A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset
- Ability to handle sensitive information with absolute discretion and professionalism
