We are looking for a hands-on NOC Team Leader with over 5 years of experience to oversee and streamline the NOC/Computers Operators team for a leading banking organization. This is a hands-on role and the successful candidate will be playing a crucial role in managing a team of 8 to ensure system uptime, incident response, and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technology in the financial sector, providing mission-critical support within an SLA driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the NOC team, ensuring high availability and performance of banking systems and services.
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, and endpoints for performance, reliability, and security using advanced tools.
- Manage incident escalation and resolution processes to minimize downtime and ensure SLA adherence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Develop and implement operational procedures, documentation, and training for NOC staff.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the NOC for critical incidents and escalations during on-call rotations.
- Rota management and shift cover.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a hands-on NOC Team Leader.
- Strong experience working with Control-M (batch monitoring) or other job management tools.
- Extensive experience in NOC operations, including monitoring tools (SolarWinds) and incident management.
- Experience working in a technical role within a Managed Services environment.
- Experience of managing shifts to ensure full cover, ideally with 24/7 experience.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP).
- Proven capability in endpoint management and troubleshooting.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership and team management experience.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
- An ability to explain technical content to non-technical audiences.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge & Support of Wintel systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.).
- Certifications such as CCNA, ITIL Foundation Certification, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent Wintel certifications).
- Approachable and pro-active with excellent interpersonal skills, experience building inter-team relationships.
- An ability and interest in understanding new technologies and integrating them into existing workflow and processes.
- A genuine interest in continuous improvement with excellent analytical skills to spot and progress improvement opportunities within the team.
