This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technology in the financial sector, providing mission‑critical support within an SLA driven environment. The role is part of a 24 x 7 NOC Operations team responsible for monitoring and resolving batch processing incidents and maintaining the Production Control‑M environment.
Key Essential Skills
- Strong experience working with Control‑M (batch monitoring) or other job management tools.
- Extensive experience in NOC operations, including monitoring tools (SolarWinds) and incident management.
- Experience working in a technical role within a Managed Services environment.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., LAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP).
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
- Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
- Ability to explain technical content to non‑technical audiences.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge and support of Wintel systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, etc.).
- Certifications such as CCNA, ITIL Foundation Certification, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent Wintel certifications).
- Approachable and pro‑active with excellent interpersonal skills, experience building inter‑team relationships.
- Ability and interest in understanding new technologies and integrating them into existing workflow and processes.
- Genuine interest in continuous improvement with excellent analytical skills to spot and progress improvement opportunities within the team.
Responsibilities
- The NOC Operations team are a 24 x 7 support function which runs manual and automated IT batches, managing critical failures, errors and alerts that occur during processing, ensuring they are escalated in a timely manner to minimise production issues and to avoid breaching SLA.
- Issues are escalated to support teams and owned by the Operations team or application teams and are seen through to resolution to maintain integrity of production systems.
- It also manages the Production Control‑M environment; the Operations team is also responsible for documentation standards to ensure they are maintained and current.
- Good technical understanding of Control‑M automated job scheduler.
- Supervise and monitor the running of End of Day Batches for London & Regional offices and manage systems to ensure SLA’s are met.
- Investigate batch issues as they occur, perform initial analysis, diagnose the issue and seek to resolve.
- Escalate issues to appropriate 2nd/3rd line support teams and manage them to resolution.
- Manage the monitoring of Seebeyond Feeds and other application feeds to ensure smooth delivery and running of business applications.
- Manage and participate in 24 x 7 shift rota pattern ensuring all shifts are appropriately covered at all times for holidays and sickness.
- Identify processes for automation and improvement and implement them in the automated batch application (Control‑M).
