Bristol Riverside Theatre seeks an ArtRageous Summer Camp Hip Hop Teaching Artist who is passionate about positively impacting the lives of youth. Ideal candidates are assertive individuals who are experienced in working with children and teens in an art educational environment.

ArtRageous is a free 4-week summer camp for youth ages 7-17. Our mission is to build/strengthen the confidence, independence, decision-making skills, and leadership abilities of campers through the exploration of various mediums of artistic expression. We strive for campers to develop a greater appreciation for creative endeavors in the performing arts through new experiences and exposure to an array of creative mediums.

The Hip Hop Dance Teaching Artist is expected to choreograph and teach dance routines, promote a supportive environment in which campers feel safe to try new things regardless of natural dance ability or previous experience. The Teaching Artist designs age-appropriate curriculum for each age group, choreographs a final showcase piece for each age group, and choreographs a grand finale piece that incorporates all 80 campers.

Focus Points: Physical Fitness, Hip Hop, Choreography, Dance History, Improvisation.

Dates:

  • Staff Training: June 29th, 30th, July 1st – 8:00 am-4:00 pm
  • Camp: June 29th - July 30 (4 weeks), Monday-Thursday (8 am-3 pm)

Requirements:

  • All relevant background checks (Criminal History (PATCH), Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse History Clearance, IdentoGO Fingerprinting Application for Federal (FBI) Criminal History Record Information).
  • 3+ years professional teaching artist experience in the relevant specialty working with a diverse student population.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.
