We’re recruiting for a Development Officer to help us grow our impact in our 40th Anniversary year! If you’re a talented fundraiser who’s passionate about breaking down barriers to the arts, amplifying underrepresented voices and proving that creativity belongs to everyone, we want to hear from you.

The Development Officer will support Theatre Peckham’s fundraising and partnerships activity, working closely with the Head of Development and Partnerships to ensure continued growth and long‑term sustainability. The role will lead on writing small to mid‑scale grant applications to trusts and foundations, contribute to larger funding bids, and support evaluation and reporting. The postholder will contribute to wider income diversification by developing key assets and campaigns while actively cultivating and maintaining relationships with individual and major donors, corporate partners and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and submit strong, persuasive funding applications for unrestricted income and creative projects up to £30,000, helping to grow income that supports Theatre Peckham’s mission and programmes.
  • Work closely with programme teams to collect and shape clear evidence, stories and data that demonstrate the impact of Theatre Peckham’s work with young people and local communities.
  • Build positive relationships with existing funders through regular updates, thoughtful stewardship and high‑quality reports that reflect our voice, values and outcomes.
  • Research and develop new fundraising opportunities across trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, individual giving and other sources aligned with Theatre Peckham’s vision.
  • Support the delivery of campaigns, events and cultivation activity that inspire new and existing supporters to invest in Theatre Peckham’s future.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of writing successful funding applications to trusts and foundations for gifts of £10,000+.
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with an ability to adapt communications to suit different audiences and platforms.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence in relationship management and donor cultivation.
  • Experience of gathering and interpreting quantitative and qualitative monitoring & evaluation data.
  • Knowledge of fundraising trends and good practice across arts and charity.
