The Department

Our Women’s First Team compete in the Barclays Women’s Super League, the highest league in the country for professional women’s football. We are proud of the growth we’ve achieved as a team, finishing 6th in the 2024/2025 season. As we continue our journey and build for the future, we are focusing our efforts on having the right resources in place to support our ambitious vision: nurturing, encouraging, and developing talent – and establishing ourselves as a leading force in women’s football.

The Role

As an Opposition Analyst you will be responsible for the video and data preview of the upcoming opposition, highlighting key trends to ensure our staff and playing squad are as prepared as possible. Utilizing an evidence-based approach, you will use provided in‑house opposition data packs to supplement any video trends found. You will present both video and data findings to the Head Coach and technical staff to allow game strategy preparation and assist relevant technical staff in the selection of video which will be delivered in team meetings. You will play a key role on matchdays, utilizing coding (alongside the performance analyst) and communicating with coaches in‑game to advise any potential changes to game strategy, as well as providing and selecting relevant video clips with coaching staff to be delivered at half‑time.

Qualifications

  • Hold a BSc (Hons) in Performance Analysis, Sport Science or a related degree and have previous experience working in a performance analysis capacity at a professional football club.
  • Ability to contextualise observations and available data to make accurate assessments with strong verbal and written communication skills that are clear, concise and accurate for presentation to technical staff.
  • IT literacy with experience of using analysis systems such as Hudl, Sportscode or similar software.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to work flexibly as this role will require evenings, weekends and matchdays in line with the team schedule.
