Norwich City Football Club is offering an exciting Academy Recruitment MSc Work Placement for the 2026/27 season, providing aspiring recruitment professionals with hands‑on experience within a Category One Academy.

Designed for students undertaking the Advanced Talent Identification and Player Recruitment (Distance Learning) MSc at St Mary's University Twickenham, this placement offers an exceptional opportunity to develop practical recruitment skills while working alongside experienced academy recruitment staff in a professional football environment.

The Role

Working within Norwich City's Academy Recruitment department, you will support recruitment activity across the Youth Development Phase (YDP) and Professional Development Phase (PDP).

You will gain valuable experience in player identification, video scouting, recruitment analysis and market intelligence, while contributing to the club's player recruitment strategy throughout the 2026/27 season.

  • Recruitment & Scouting
  • Conduct extensive video scouting to identify players suitable for Norwich City's Academy.
  • Support recruitment strategy through detailed coverage of assigned leagues and markets.
  • Produce comprehensive scouting reports on prospective players.
  • Maintain and manage scouting shortlists and player tracking systems.
  • Collate and organise scouting intelligence and recruitment information.
  • Analysis & Player Evaluation
  • Produce player videos, recruitment dossiers and presentation materials.
  • Support player assessment through detailed video analysis.
  • Assist with recruitment meetings and player evaluation processes.
  • Professional Development
  • Work alongside Academy and First Team recruitment staff.
  • Gain experience in live scouting and report writing throughout the season.
  • Participate in cross‑department learning opportunities to develop a broader understanding of football operations.
