Job Purpose

To strategically co-ordinate the National scouting team, filter and screen potential target players from the region and present key information about top talents on and off the pitch in the hope of becoming a Tottenham Hotspur acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically co-ordinate the movements and coverage of National scouts throughout the week.
  • Track the coverage of all U13-U18 teams across the region throughout the season.
  • Work as a confirmation scout on shortlisted/target players.
  • Keep up to date on the monitoring, tracking, reporting and recommending of all players using an internet-based scouting system as directed by the National Recruitment Manager.
  • Ensure strong contact networks are maintained and extended.
  • Liaise closely with senior members of the Academy Recruitment team on the progress of target players, trialists and players transitioned out of the club.
  • Attend age-appropriate Tottenham Hotspur Academy matches to monitor in-house scouting and national trialists.
  • Support video scouting/cross-referencing as appropriate of target players.
  • Travel and attend national and international fixtures/competitions at home and abroad.
  • Be prepared to travel extensively across the UK in search of elite players suitable for Tottenham Hotspur.
  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings as directed by the National Recruitment Manager and Head of Academy Recruitment.
  • Lead National scouts meeting on a weekly basis.
  • Be an active and highly visible member of our scouting team out in the field.
  • Support the onboarding of national trialists as appropriate via video call, liaising with agents/parents as appropriate.
  • Work within strict deadlines agreed with line management.
  • Ensure qualifications meet the compliance of the youth development rules.

  • Has experience of live and video scouting/report writing.
  • Track record of identifying and presenting top national talents.
  • Has experience of a similar role at Category One level.
