Forest Green Rovers FC in partnership with Hartpury University are offering a fully-funded 1-year work placement alongside studying towards an MSc in Applied Performance Analysis in Sport. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine studying a postgraduate degree at one of the top Universities in the country whilst also gaining real world experience in an elite football environment.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the performance analysis provision during the 2025/26 season. The primary working location will be at the clubs training ground (The Candriam Training Centre, near Junction 13 of the M5), with the requirement of travelling to all home & away games (where required). This position will require the candidate to work irregular hours, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays depending on the fixture schedule.
Placement- Support in the live, pre- and post-match analysis process, specifically opposition individuals, set pieces and training.
- Opportunity to conduct a research project within the First Team to support both your studies and the club.
- Create and maintain comprehensive video databases.
- Assist in the creation and delivery of team, unit and individual analysis meetings.
- A 2.1 undergraduate degree in related field (although this is open to discussion based on experience).
- A strong work ethic and a proactive approach to learning and development.
- Comfortable working within a multi-disciplinary team in a high-paced environment.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Contribute to the development of performance analysis within the club through new ideas and suggestions.
- Be able to commit to the full 2025/26 season.
- Experience of being around and / or working in an elite sporting environment.
- Experience using performance analysis software and hardware. (Hudl Sportscode, Studio, Wyscout)
- Proficiency with data analysis software. (RStudio, Python, Tableau)
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and Mac products. (Keynote, Word, Excel)
In ensuring that all MSc Studentship recipients achieve their academic potential, all students are required to adhere to academic regulations and meet the expectations set out in our Hartpury University Academy Scholarship document. Such expectations include attendance, engagement, application, values, behaviour (on and off campus) and athletic performance. Taught university sessions take place on a Tuesday.
