This UKSI role sits at the heart of the Data & Insights function within British Cycling’s Performance Support Team. The overarching mission is clear: enable the Great Britain Cycling Team (GBCT) to use world-class data and evidence to ask better questions, make better decisions, and ultimately deliver better performances on the world stage.
The Great Britain Cycling Team is one of the nation’s most successful Olympic and Paralympic programmes. While athletes stand on the podium, they are supported by an expert Performance Support Team working relentlessly across the Olympic cycle — developing best-in-class equipment, applying cutting‑edge sport science, and driving innovation in every marginal gain. Data is the golden thread that connects it all.
This role will be pivotal in driving performance across the Track Sprint and BMX disciplines. Far more than routine analysis, you will operate at the sharp end of elite sport — capturing, engineering, and transforming complex performance and video data from training environments and international competition into powerful, actionable insight.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with coaches and athletes, you will turn evidence into competitive advantage. Through innovative analysis, applied problem-solving, and hands‑on delivery, you will support evidence‑informed decisions that directly impact race‑day outcomes. Your work will ensure that every fraction of a second is measured, understood, and optimised — contributing to podium ambitions at LA 2028 and beyond.
If you feel you can bring the expertise we require to help us shape our future, we very much look forward to hearing from you.
