A flexible and engaging role that allows a practicing analyst and leader in sport to use industry experience to help deliver content in Performance Analysis and Talent Identification to students at undergraduate and post‑graduate level. We are looking for a candidate with industry experience in performance analysis, talent identification and leadership in sport. The candidate will ideally have experience in a coaching background and in delivering content within Higher Education. The candidate must be student‑facing, work well in a team environment, and be familiar with contemporary analysis platforms.

Job Purpose
To lead and contribute to teaching on the BSc (Hons) Sport Performance Analysis and Talent Identification and MSc Performance Analysis and Talent Identification courses, ensuring a high‑quality student experience and successful student outcomes. Other responsibilities will include teaching and marking, project supervision, an academic and personal tutor role and being part of the Performance Analysis and Talent Identification team in curriculum development and quality monitoring. As a lecturer, you will engage in research and/or scholarly/professional activity to enhance and inform the teaching design, delivery and curriculum development.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (Lecturer)
- Contribute to the teaching of core undergraduate Sport Performance Analysis and Talent Identification modules within the School of Sport and Exercise Science, and more broadly across the faculty.
- Contribute to the teaching and development of practical Sport Performance Analysis and Talent Identification sessions.
- Supervise student projects at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Develop and prepare learning resources/module booklets in support of teaching and learning, and provide online resources to accompany this.
- Act as a personal tutor to a number of individual students and uphold the University’s tradition of student‑centred, tutor‑supported learning.
- Actively participate in programme‑level initiatives and course developments.
- Contribute to curriculum development, policy formulation and planning for the Faculty.
- Contribute to the research and/or knowledge transfer activities of the Faculty.
- Engage with and strengthen the University Mission and participate in the broader academic life of the University.
- Support and help develop the Subject Area strategy for growth and development.
- Contribute to campus‑based initiatives and activities where appropriate.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of School or roles nominated by the Associate Head of School: Coaching, Pedagogy, and Performance Analysis.

Knowledge and Qualifications
- A relevant first degree and postgraduate degree (E)
- Experience working in Talent Identification and/or Performance Analysis within a sporting context (E)
- PhD or Professional Doctorate (completed or in progress) (D)
- Leadership experience in sport, ideally within recruitment teams (E)
- Willingness and ability to teach across programmes, in a range of different contexts (including at M level) (E)
- Willingness and ability to undertake research and/or knowledge transfer activity (E)
- Coaching experience at NGB level (D)
- HEA membership and/or experience working in Higher Education (D)
