Purpose of the Role: The post holder will assist in the position-specific analysis of players as requested by the Sporting Director, for First Team recruitment. The post holder will support and contribute to an evidence-based recruitment strategy through detailed, position-specific player analysis.
Functional Links
- Internal: Sporting Director, Player Recruitment Team, Academy Recruitment Team, Staff and Managers throughout the organisation.
- External: Other Clubs’ Player Recruitment teams, Players and their agents/representatives, Premier League and English Football League, Football Association (FA), League Managers Association (LMA), Professional Footballers Association (PFA).
Key Performance Indicators:
- The post holder will recommend high calibre players for further consideration for the Club’s playing squads, focusing on specific positional attributes relevant to the Club’s playing philosophies.
- Effective time management and organisation skills, with clearly presented reports submitted in accordance with specified timescales.
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Produce evidence-based, Club bespoke scouting reports for players, across various stages of the player recruitment process.
- Create single game video packages and position-specific playlists to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Identify and evaluate potential recruitment targets using scouting platforms and video analysis.
- Create bespoke data and video presentation summaries for prospective signings.
- Provide evidence-based recommendations to inform recruitment decision-making processes.
- Contribute to department-wide recruitment and analysis projects as required.
- Build excellent working relationships throughout relevant stakeholders, including agencies, suppliers, and central rights holders (e.g., the EFL, Sportsvision, SportFive, Eleven etc.).
- Attend live games when requested.
- Fulfil any other duties commensurate with the role.
Other:
- Be willing to travel and to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends in line with match schedules.
- Be able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
