Wycombe Wanderers are recruiting for a First-Team Performance Analyst to support the coaching staff by providing detailed performance insights and data-driven analysis to enhance team preparation, player development, and matchday strategies. Working closely with the technical team, the role involves collecting, organizing, and interpreting performance data, video footage, and tactical trends to inform decision-making at the elite level.

This role requires a proactive individual who can work under pressure in a fast-paced professional football environment, contribute to training, pre- and post-match analysis, and assist in delivering clear and concise performance reports tailored to coaches and players. What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver Advanced Data Insights: Oversee the collection, analysis, and presentation of technical & tactical data to inform coaching decisions, game preparation, and performance reviews.
  • Opposition Scouting & Match Preparation: Assist in creating detailed opposition reports using video analysis and data trends to support tactical planning and strategy for upcoming matches.
  • Set Piece Analysis: Examine attacking and defending set pieces through video and data analysis, focusing on both the team’s execution and the opposition’s tendencies to identify patterns, evaluate effectiveness and guide tactical adjustments.
  • Training Analysis: Capturing training utilizing a drone. Collect and visualize data from training to provide insights into player and team development.
  • Match Day Analysis: Utilize live data insights to identify key trends from the opponent to help identify key tactical adjustments.
  • Post-Match and Development Analysis: Analyze match data in accordance with the club’s playing philosophy, highlighting key strengths and pinpointing areas for improvement at the team, unit, and individual levels to support ongoing development.

Do you have what it takes?

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in professional football, with a strong understanding of the high-performance environment. Bachelor’s degree in a performance analysis or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Coaching qualifications desirable.
