AFC Bournemouth are seeking a Junior Performance Data Scientist to support the development and delivery of data-driven processes across First Team and Academy performance environments. Working within the Performance & Medicine department, you will play a key role in ensuring reliable, high-quality data supports decision-making around player health, performance, and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with collection, cleaning and analysis of performance & medical data
  • Support dashboards, reporting systems and data visualisation tools
  • Maintain data integrity across GPS, HR, wellness and testing systems
  • Help align data processes across First Team and Academy
  • Contribute to research, innovation and predictive modelling projects
  • Collaborate with medical, coaching and performance staff

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Data Science, Sports Science, Maths or similar
  • Experience with Python and/or R (e.g. pandas, tidyverse)
  • Knowledge of SQL and data management workflows
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI or similar tools
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in applying data within elite sport environments
