Aston Villa Football Club are seeking a forward thinking and proactive Intern to join our open minded, progressive Academy Performance Analysis Department on a fixed term, paid placement alongside studying for a MSc degree. The Academy Performance Analysis Department is responsible for the analysis provision for Players ranging from U9 – U21. The Department works collaboratively with Coaching staff to provide and deliver high quality analysis content through a variety of different methods to support the Academy Technical and Tactical programme. The Academy Performance Analysis Department looks to maximise the skillsets of each individual staff member to enhance the content produced within each area of our delivery cycle and has an excellent track record of providing a platform for the development of Performance Analysts.

In this role, you will become an involved and vital member of the Academy Analysis Department and you will gain an insight into how Performance Analysis operates within an elite football environment. The successful postholder will gain hands‑on experience in a broad range of analysis processes. You will learn how to lead the analysis processes for a team (pre, live, post, statistical, databases). You will be responsible for providing staff and players with video, data and material that supports the development of individual players and support the implementation of the playing style.

The successful candidate must be enrolled/willing to enrol in a postgraduate degree within Sports Performance Analysis, Coaching or Sports Science or equivalent for the upcoming season. If you have not yet enrolled, the Club can support you in this process. We are looking for a forward-thinking and proactive individual with a demonstrable knowledge of football and player development. You must have a UEFA C licence or a level 2 Coaching qualification and/or experience of playing football; previous experience within Performance Analysis is desirable. You will need to be personable and able to work collaboratively as part of a team. You will need to be available to work flexibly including evenings and weekends as and when required.

A season-long paid placement at a category one Premier League Club alongside studying a MSc degree. The opportunity to be a vital member within the Academy Analysis Department. Exposure to an elite football environment and different areas of analysis (training, matchdays, coach development etc.) The opportunity to develop necessary skills needed to gain full time employment within football.
