Academy Analyst | Bath Rugby (Jobs in Sports Performance Analysis The ASPA)

Bath Rugby are looking to appoint an Academy Analyst to support the delivery of high-quality performance analysis across the Academy pathway and the club's partnership with Beechen Cliff School.

Working closely with coaches and multidisciplinary staff, you'll transform video, data, and performance evidence into actionable insights that support player learning, coach decision-making, and individual player development throughout the Academy pathway.

  • Performance Analysis
  • Deliver filming, coding, and post‑match analysis across Academy teams and partnership environments.
  • Support the capture and analysis of training sessions, fixtures, festivals, and development events.
  • Acquire, organise, and distribute footage from loan clubs, partner schools, and age‑grade international fixtures involving Academy players.
  • Deliver timely, high‑quality analysis aligned with Academy priorities.
  • Player Development & Coaching Support
  • Provide technical and tactical insights using video and performance evidence.
  • Work alongside coaches to establish analysis priorities and feedback objectives.
  • Produce player statistics, video clips, and feedback to support Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Encourage players to develop self‑analysis and reflective learning skills through video review.
  • Performance Insights & Decision Support
  • Support Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and player case conferences with evidence‑based analysis.
  • Track individual and positional development, identifying trends and progression over time.
  • Provide analytical support for talent identification and player transition discussions.
  • Systems & Partnership Support
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of analysis methods, workflows, and technologies.
  • Maintain organised video libraries, player databases, and analysis platforms.
  • Act as the lead analysis contact for the Beechen Cliff School partnership, building strong relationships with school and Academy staff and coordinating analysis provision.
  • Experience delivering performance analysis within rugby or another performance team sport.
  • Strong proficiency using
  • Hudl Sportscode

(or equivalent video analysis software).

  • Ability to interpret video and performance data to produce actionable coaching insights.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary performance environments.
  • Ability to produce clear reports and performance visualisations.
  • High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, matchdays, and travel between sites.
  • Experience within academy or youth development environments.
  • Experience supporting adolescent athlete development.
  • Experience working within school, college, or educational partnerships.
  • Experience helping athletes develop self‑analysis and reflective learning.
  • Experience with data visualisation or dashboard reporting tools.
  • Understanding of rugby talent development pathways.
