An exciting opportunity to lead our Boy’s Academy Performance Analyst team. As Academy Performance Analysis Manager, you will lead analysis for all Academy age groups and support player development and department progress. You will also manage and update a video database of best practice clips. Another key part to this role will be staying updated on all new technology and methodology related to video analysis, ensuring our Academy remains at the forefront of performance analysis.

In this role you will line manage the Academy Performance Analysis staff, ensuring the analysis needs of all Academy teams (U21’s-U9’s) are met.

Roles and responsibilities
  • To lead the performance analysis and insights needs of Brighton and Hove Albion FC Academy teams from U9’s up to the U21’s.
  • To line manage Academy Performance Analysis staff, ensuring the analysis needs of all Academy teams (U21’s to U9’s) are met.
  • To provide analysis support across the PDP and YDP age groups when there is such a demand.
  • To oversee the creation and update a video database of good practice video clips.
  • To organise university work experience students with the filming of schoolboy matches.
  • To ensure all match footage is uploaded for players to access.
  • To lead in the development of full-time work placements with the Academy Analysis department.
  • To create yearly departmental targets to ensure continual development of Academy Analysis department.
  • To drive a culture of analysis within the Academy, ensuring the development of players and teams is maximised through relevant insights.
  • To ensure alignment between Academy and First Team Analysis processes where possible.
  • To contribute and represent the Analysis department in Academy Management meetings.
  • To keep abreast of all new technology and methodology related to video analysis.
  • To help manage and maintain all department equipment.
  • To help ensure that the department fulfils EPPP requirements for the Academy.
  • To undertake any departmental and/or club CPD.

  • To support Brighton & Hove Albion and Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation in their aims and objectives at all times.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant club policies, including health and safety policies.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements.
  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional persona at all times when representing Brighton & Hove Albion and Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation.
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the club, foundation and its personnel.
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times.
  • To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • Essential: Related Sports Science or Performance Analysis degree
  • Desirable: Coaching experience and/or qualifications
Skills, knowledge and experience
  • Essential: A high level of football knowledge
  • Minimum of 5 years working full-time within a professional football club
  • Experience of performance analysis within an academy environment
  • Highly knowledgeable and experience of using Sportscode software
  • Competent with Mac products
  • Experience of filming football matches
  • Creative presentation skills and experience
  • Excellent overall level of numeracy and literacy
