In response to a growing exhibition programme in the Fitzrovia space and beyond, Maximillian William, London is seeking to hire a Gallery Manager. This is a diverse role with core responsibilities including shipping, invoicing and database duties and sales administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the gallery. They will work alongside the Gallery Director, Head of Exhibitions and Gallery Assistant, and will regularly liaise with artists’ studios and clients. This position is well suited for a driven individual with experience working on ambitious projects in a small team, who is well organised and motivated to work in the arts. There is scope for the right person to grow within the team and for the role to eventually include, for example, travel to fairs, wider support across the team, and work on artist projects.
This is a managerial role and thus the ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience working in a similar role with a proven focus on logistics and sales administration.
Terms
- Part-time position with immediate start.
- Monday-Thursday (9.45am-6pm) with one working Saturday per month, and with occasional evening work.
- During a week where the Registrar works on a Saturday, Monday will be taken off in lieu.
- All working weeks are 4 days.
- £37,500-40,000 per annum (Pro rata £30,000-32,000 for four days a week)

Job Responsibilities
- Overseeing all registrarial tasks, managing the Artlogic database, organising artwork logistics, for national and international logistics and maintaining records of artwork storage.
- Managing the gallery’s TA account, making sure all items are imported and exported correctly.
- Handling pre- and post-sale administration, including sales documents, artist commission invoicing, maintaining client information, AML and logistics.
- Overseeing consignment and loan agreements, liaising with artists, institutions and other commercial galleries.
- Assisting with gallery internal and external exhibitions, including installation coordination with gallery art tech, material sourcing, contractor liaising, art fair logistics, artwork handling, and condition reports using systems such as Artlogic and Articheck.
- Managing building maintenance, storage locations, and insurance.
- Supervising in-house technicians and allocating tasks.
