We are looking for flexible, calm, resilient and creative individuals who have a passion in wanting to make a difference to the lives of traumatised children. As a Senior Therapeutic Childcare Practitioner you will lead by example, providing support to staff as well as the children and assist in the operational running of the home.
Hours: Full time position (on average 40hrs a week plus 1 x sleep in per week) – permanent (shift work including sleep-ins and on-call duties as per rota).
We care for traumatised children between the ages of 4 to 11 on referral. Our approach is a model of care that combines a safe, nurturing and managed environment that puts relationships and thinking at the core of genuine therapeutic change in our homes. In this way, we provide a unique approach to residential therapeutic work.
If you have at least 1 years’ experience in childcare and have or are working towards the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and wish to progress your career in therapeutic childcare working within an accredited children's therapeutic community then you are the sort of person we want! We have a high level of support and care for our staff and varied opportunities for career development and progression.
Amicus is a children’s therapeutic community accredited by The Royal College of Psychiatrists providing therapeutic residential care and education to vulnerable and traumatised children aged 4 to 16 years old (up to age 11 on referral). Full UK driving license is essential. Amicus is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. Applicants will therefore be required to complete a full application pack and if shortlisted, undergo Enhanced DBS checks and Warner / Safeguarding Interviews as part of our Safer Recruitment Process.
