Theale Medical Centre is recruiting a reliable and enthusiastic Dispensary Assistant/Dispenser to join our friendly practice dispensary team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, patient-focused, and able to work well in a busy clinical environment.

Main duties of the job:

  • Dispense medications accurately and safely in line with practice protocols.
  • Process repeat and acute prescription requests.
  • Handle patient queries by phone, in person, and via clinical tasks.
  • Provide advice and support to patients within scope of practice.
  • Take payments for private prescriptions and dispensed items.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and checking deliveries.
  • Support Prescription Management activities, ensuring safe and timely workflow.
  • Support Medicines Reconciliation and Docman processing (adding/amending medications under guidance).
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all dispensary processes meet legal and clinical governance standards.

Job responsibilities:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Pharmacy Services (or working towards) desirable.
