The Agency is recruiting on behalf of an established engineering business looking for someone with a strong background in
structural steel erection and installation
to join their site management team.
You don't need to already be an experienced Site Manager.
If you've come through the steelwork industry, understand what it takes to safely install structural steel on site and you're already comfortable supervising people, this could be a great opportunity to progress your career.
The Role
You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of structural steel installation works on projects across the UK.
You'll generally manage
one site at a time , overseeing teams of around
67 employees and subcontractors , depending on the project.
Your responsibilities will include: Supervising structural steel erection and installation
Managing site teams and subcontract labour
Coordinating day-to-day site activities
Working across primary and secondary steelwork projects
Reading and interpreting steelwork and technical drawings
Coordinating crane and lifting operations
Carrying out pre-start visits and site surveys
Managing RAMS and site Health & Safety
Delivering site inductions and toolbox talks
Monitoring progress, quality and programme
Managing plant, equipment and site resources
Identifying and resolving installation issues
Completing daily site reports and maintaining accurate records
Managing snagging and supporting project close-out
Liaising with Contracts Managers, Design, QA and other internal teams
There will also be an element of
office and computer-based work , including reporting, project documentation and planning.

Structural steel erection/installation experience is essential.

We're looking for someone who understands the practical side of steel erection and can confidently manage activity on site.
You'll ideally have experience with: Structural steel erection and installation
Primary and/or secondary steelwork
Supervising steel erection gangs
Crane and lifting operations
Reading technical drawings
Construction plant and equipment
RAMS and Health & Safety
Working at height and MEWPs
Site reporting and documentation
Experience within
rail, infrastructure or major construction projects
would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Qualifications
Ideally, you'll hold some or all of the following: Crane Supervisor
SSSTS or above
CSCS Gold Card
IPAF
PASMA
First Aid
