The Role

The Head of Video is a senior leadership role responsible for setting the vision and direction for video at the7stars.

Sitting at the intersection of strategy, innovation, client leadership and people development, this role defines the agency’s point of view on modern video, from big-screen broadcast and CTV to thumb-stopping short-form and commerce-driven formats.

This is not a traditional "TV lead" role.

The Head of Video will lead the evolution from legacy Video planning to fully integrated, full-funnel video strategies that drive brand growth, performance and measurable business outcomes.

They will ensure video operates as a connected system across channels, audiences and moments, positioning the agency at the forefront of how video is planned, bought, measured and experienced.

Working closely with senior leadership, clients and specialist teams, this role acts as both internal catalyst and external ambassador, shaping the future of video for the agency and the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Video Vision & Strategic Leadership
  • Set a clear, compelling vision for video at the7stars, defining its role across brand, performance and commerce outcomes
  • Lead the evolution from traditional video to integrated, full-funnel video strategies that connect Linear, BVOD, CTV, Online Video and emerging formats into one coherent narrative
  • Establish a distinctive, agency-wide POV on modern video consumption, creative effectiveness and audience engagement
  • Develop long-term video roadmaps aligned to changing viewing behaviours, platform innovation and client business objectives
  • Champion bold thinking, experimentation and best-in-class standards in video strategy and execution
  • Act as the senior video lead across key clients, owning strategic direction and acting as escalation point for complex challenges
  • Work closely with client leads, strategists and planners to design standout video responses for briefs, pitches and long-term growth plans
  • Inspire ambitious, innovative video thinking that goes beyond media planning to influence creative, content and experience design
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, influencing investment decisions and the role of video within wider marketing ecosystems
  • Represent the agency as a video thought leader in client sessions, pitches and strategic workshops
  • Champion a data-led approach to video planning, optimisation and investment
  • Build and embed frameworks that use audience data, attention metrics, incrementality testing and MMM/attribution to demonstrate video’s impact
  • Partner with Data, Strategy and Trading teams to guide smarter, evidence-based video investment decisions
  • Translate complex measurement outputs into clear, compelling narratives for clients and teams
  • Continuously evolve how success is defined and measured across brand and performance video
  • Drive innovation across the video ecosystem, designing pilots, betas and structured test-and-learn programmes with media owners and tech partners
  • Explore and unlock opportunities across shoppable video, interactive formats, AI-powered optimisation and emerging measurement approaches
  • Maintain a strong view of platform developments, evolving formats and audience behaviours, bringing actionable insight back into the agency
  • Encourage a culture of curiosity and experimentation, balancing innovation with effectiveness and scalability
  • Lead, inspire and grow a high-performing, multi-disciplinary video team spanning strategy, planning and execution
  • Create a culture rooted in curiosity, experimentation and craft excellence
  • Mentor senior team members, providing coaching, feedback and clear development pathways
  • Set clear objectives and KPIs that drive both commercial performance and strategic progression
  • Ensure consistent quality, strong delivery standards and sustainable team workloads
  • Tools, Processes & Product Development
  • Help shape and refine the agency’s planning tools, processes and proprietary products to reflect modern video consumption
  • Evolve Video workflows from planning through activation, optimisation and reporting
  • Implement robust QA and governance frameworks to protect delivery and performance
  • Educate the wider agency on video best practice, innovation and effectiveness
  • Ensure video thinking is embedded across agency products, credentials and propositions
  • External Profile & Industry Leadership
  • Act as the agency’s external voice on video, representing the7stars at industry events, panels and in thought leadership
  • Collaborate with media partners and platforms to shape industry conversations and future opportunities
  • Bring back intelligence on emerging platforms, formats and behaviours to inform strategy and product development
  • Elevate the profile of the Video capability internally and externally
  • The Successful Candidate Must Have
  • Demonstrable experience working within AV
  • Proven experience across the broader Video ecosystem, extending beyond BVOD
  • Extensive leadership experience, with a strong track record of managing and developing large teams
  • Up-to-date, expert-level knowledge of the evolving Video landscape
  • Well-established, senior-level relationships with external stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting to clients and the ability to understand their wider business objectives and challenges
  • The Successful Candidate Will Have Some Of
  • An understanding of the programmatic execution of planning and buying process of Video through a DSP
  • A solid, holistic understanding of the wider media ecosystem, and how different channels influence, complement, and enhance Video performance
