THE·TEAM is looking for an Associate Vice President, Growth & Development to join the Business Development team on a FTC from September 2026 to August 2027. This is a senior pitch leadership role, responsible for leading end-to-end new business pitches and responses, setting the overall vision for written and presented outputs, and bringing together specialist teams to deliver fully integrated responses to varied briefs. The successful candidate will combine strategic direction, commercial judgement and calm leadership under pressure, ensuring pitch teams are aligned, motivated and focused on producing industry-leading work.

What you will be doing

  • Lead end-to-end new business pitches and responses, taking responsibility for the overall vision, structure and quality of the output delivered to clients, with a particular focus on our large-scale live experience and activation opportunities.
  • Engage and brief specialist teams to secure high-quality contributions and piece together fully integrated responses to varied new business briefs.
  • Manage pitch and response teams, assigning roles and responsibilities according to strengths and capabilities to sustain a high-performing response.
  • Lead associated scope-of-work discussions alongside the pitch process in partnership with Operations, Resourcing and Finance leads.
  • Drive best-in-class pitch processes, maintaining consistent use of available tools and ensuring THE·TEAM pitch materials are delivered to an industry-leading standard.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of client expectations and how they coincide with market trends, ensuring responses are relevant to the current climate.
  • Ensure senior stakeholders are kept up to date on pitch progress, issues, risks and news.

You will be responsible for

  • Establishing and supporting strong chemistry across the core pitch or response team and capability leads across THE·TEAM.
  • Ensuring the pitch team listens to feedback and incorporates it into the process in real time.
  • Working with pitch and response managers to maintain tight schedules, allow sufficient time for rehearsals and ensure effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Making sure issues are escalated early so they can be resolved and keeping relevant senior stakeholders informed throughout the process.
  • Creating a clear, confident and motivating environment that enables teams to do their best work under pressure.

The skills and experience you need

  • 12+ years’ experience in sports, music and entertainment marketing, brand marketing or a demonstrable marketing background, ideally with experience in large-scale live experiences and activations.
  • Strong commercial and business development experience, with the ability to take a high-level understanding and provide clarity of thought and direction.
  • Recent experience as part of a successful pitch team, with confidence leading complex, high-profile responses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate direction clearly and win trust with teams and stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills that nurture creativity and integration while ensuring high-quality service and timely results.
  • Proficiency with Google Drive, Zoom, PowerPoint, Keynote or project management tools.
  • Confidence directing large cross-functional teams, including contributors who may work remotely.
