About the Role

The Youth Education Service is working in partnership with a supportive Primary School in Prenton, Wirral, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant SEN Nurture Base. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is calm, caring and confident supporting children who need additional help with learning, communication, emotions and behaviour. The role is full-time, starting ASAP and continuing into September, with the opportunity to become permanent after a week temp-to-perm period. You will be supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 within a nurturing SEN provision, helping children feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils within the SEN Nurture Base on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Help children with SEN, SEMH, Autism and ADHD.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, communication and learning.
  • Assist the teacher and SEN team with daily routines, learning activities and interventions.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence and engagement.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Maintain safeguarding and behaviour standards at all times.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient and passionate about helping children make progress. Experience working with children or young people is preferred. Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

  • SEN support
  • Primary education
  • Nurture provision
  • SEMH support
  • Autism or ADHD support
  • Behaviour support
  • Youth work
  • Care
  • Sports coaching
