The Youth Education Service is working with an Alternative Provision school in Liverpool, supporting primary-aged pupils with SEN, SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties. We are looking for a Primary SEN Teacher to start in September. This is a 10-12 week temp-to-perm role, with the successful teacher paid from their current scale point from day one, plus SEN 1 allowance. You will be teaching primary-aged pupils in a structured and supportive Alternative Provision setting, delivering engaging lessons that are adapted to individual needs. This role would suit a Primary Teacher with SEN experience, strong behaviour management, or a genuine interest in moving into Alternative Provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging primary lessons.
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties.
  • Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to support pupil engagement.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and senior leaders.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Maintain safeguarding and professional standards at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Primary teaching experience.
  • SEN, SEMH, or Alternative Provision experience is desirable.
  • Calm, resilient, and nurturing approach.
