YOU is a registered charity that has been providing care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people, working across Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex, Wiltshire, Somerset and the Isle of Wight to give them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.

The primary purpose of a recovery partner is to support the people you work with to develop their skills in order to maintain their independence, health and wellbeing. You will work as part of a team providing person‑centred care, which includes tasks to ensure safe and comfortable accommodation, and being proactively involved in activities both inside and outside of the home. You are passionate about working together and getting to know each person in the house and helping them to develop greater self‑reliance and independence to better manage their own mental and physical well‑being.

The appointed Sessional Support Worker will:

  • Have experience of working in mental health services or lived experiences, working with individuals who have forensic/offending history and/or complex needs.
  • Have an understanding of recovery focused and asset‑based support, and how to apply positive risk management.
  • Have an understanding of substance misuse issues and how to work with clients to safely manage their substance misuse.
  • Have an understanding of personalisation in the context of support, and best practice around person‑centred working and positive risk taking.
  • Be flexible and able to cover in urgent situations.
  • Be able to work a variety of shifts including sleep‑ins and weekend shifts.

You will be experienced and passionate about supporting people through their recovery journey, thinking creatively, innovatively and always taking a can‑do approach to give the best possible support. You will have experience of positive risk management, knowledge of CQC regulations and have experience of supporting people in their day to day life.
