Temporary Female Children & Young Person Violence Advocate (internally known as CYPVA)

Ferndown, also covering North Dorset and Swanage

Temporary, Part Time (32 hours per week) (Temporary for 6 months)

Qualifications
- NNEB, Diploma/Degree or NVQ5 in working with children and young people or equivalent work level experience.
- Experience of supporting children who have been subject to domestic violence and abuse.
- Experience of effective multi-agency and partnership working, person-centred service delivery.
- Experience of safeguarding best practice for children.
- Knowledge of best practice in relation to domestic violence and abuse in health settings and of the function of the MARAC.
- Able to relate well with children and young people and respond positively to challenging behaviour.
Responsibilities
- Experienced in effective multi-agency and partnership working.
- Hold a caseload of CYP and manage diary ensuring I meet their needs as individuals.
- Advocate on behalf of CYP in a professional and respectful manner, encouraging and enabling CYP to have their own voice and develop self-resilience.
- Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred services, enabling client involvement.
- Have knowledge of best practice in relation to domestic violence.
- Work with others to carry out joint assessments and co-produce individual support plans with the people I work with.
