The YOU Trust (YOU) is a registered charity celebrating its 40th birthday in 2025. Over those years, YOU has expanded to become a major regional charity in the South of England. By working alongside individuals in our communities, ensuring that every step we take is guided by the voices and lived experiences of those we support, we have developed and delivered innovative high-quality services that empower adults and children to live safe, healthy, independent lives. Additionally, we own and successfully operate My Learning Cloud, an online learning platform.

The Role

This post will be at the forefront of our ambition to continue to do this for many years to come as we take on new challenges and expand. We are highly regarded for the work we do and successfully deliver our distinct support models to very high standards across all our services. Our two Director of Operations roles lead this activity and are critical to continuing to deliver safe, high-quality, effective services. Our two Directors of Operations, whilst having distinct accountabilities, work closely together and collaboratively so that our service impact across six counties is resilient, compliant, and safe.

Equally, you will be passionate about fairness, delivering high-quality, and making a real difference to people. You will ensure that our operations run smoothly, sustainably and in line with regulatory standards, enabling us to improve outcomes for the people we support.

You will have experience of:

  • Strategic leadership of operations and service delivery across a wide portfolio of services
  • Oversight of health and social care regulation, compliance, quality, and safeguarding
  • Managing and developing operational teams
  • Leading organisational planning, performance, and risk management
  • Budget oversight and resource planning
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation
  • Building partnerships with commissioners, local authorities, NHS bodies, and community organisations
  • Supporting business development by being the subject matter expert in potential tendering opportunities and new business development
  • Report writing to provide accurate and detailed information to Senior Personnel and Trustees
  • Developing and implementing Voice, Engagement and Co-production

We are deeply committed to working alongside individuals in our communities and experiencing our services, ensuring that every step we take is guided by the voices and lived experiences of those we support. Listening and learning from feedback is central to our continuous service improvement – Our Directors of Operations lead this work and actively promote co-production. The YOU Trust has a strong value base, striving to be person-centred, innovative, trustworthy, can-do and excellent at all times, so it is important that you are as passionate about these principles as we are.
