We have exciting opportunities for experienced UX/UI Designers to join our creative team full-time, on a fixed-term basis. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of successfully creating exciting user journeys, flows, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for both web and apps in the Retail, Finance, Consumer Tech, Food and Beverage, Health and Wellbeing, Property Development, Hospitality, and Transport sectors. The Yard Creative is seeking a UX/UI Designer to join our growing team and help drive the business forward. As a boutique design agency that ‘only works with people who want to challenge a sector’, our ability to see the world differently from others and identify opportunities for our clients is what inspires us. The perfect candidates must be well versed in best-practice brand experience design and have a detailed understanding of the creative and brand strategy processes to work alongside our creative and strategy teams. Candidates must also be able to work on multiple projects and have proven experience working with blue-chip companies, entrepreneurs, and start-ups across all aspects of the design life cycle. Roles and responsibilities Receiving and interpreting client briefs Running client and team meetings/workshops Gathering and evaluating user requirements in collaboration with the broader project team Developing strategies derived from data and evidence and turning these into digital designs and solutions Capable of working within a multi-disciplinary design team to design, deliver and intrinsically understand user journeys and user interface design that will connect products to their audiences Developing ideas for brand engagement, user experience and interaction design Development of 2D visual design concepts and finalising through design development Developer liaison and management Client liaison, review and signoff Leadership, inspiration and direction of junior members of the creative team Keeping up to date with trends and a love for all that’s new and innovative Developing existing client relationships and supporting the farming of new work Supporting new business activities and winning new clients. This is a client-facing role that requires proactive engagement and management of clients. While there will be regular client meetings and site visits, the day-to-day work will be conducted in our office in London. The person will be required to document meetings, produce presentations, and create all project deliverables to an exceptionally high standard. As part of the creative team, the person will be expected to work with guidance from the Directors and other Senior Management team members. We expect this person to be completely self-sufficient in terms of working across multiple projects, managing their time efficiently, and generating project deliverables. You will need to constantly hone your design instinct through user feedback, whether through hands-on user research or by designing options for multi-variant testing. Specific skills required for the role: Excellent idea and concept generation abilities Experience in designing for consumer facing brands and B2B brands Experience in creating user journeys, creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, sitemaps, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas Ability to deliver outstanding user experience providing an exceptional and intuitive application design Experience of collecting, researching, investigating and evaluating user requirements Ability to design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets Ability to identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness) Experience in designing websites and applications for smart devices, including liaison with web developers Extensive experience in creating stunning visually stunning and intuitive interfaces for websites, apps or even games Expert knowledge of user tools such as Sketch, Invision, Figma or Adobe XD Very confident executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand over to developer team Very confident in managing suppliers (e.g. developers) Outstanding client liaison and management skills Good team leadership skills Excellent ability to produce all project deliverables to an exceptionally high standard Expert Apple Mac user Experienced user of MS Office Expert user of Adobe Creative Cloud Excellent storyboarding and creation of presentations using Adobe InDesign Beneficial to have web build / code, motion design & copywriting skills About TYC TYC is an award-winning strategic design studio based in London.
