The Role:

• Full-time, permanent position
• Lead and manage the Physical Education department, overseeing curriculum development, teaching and learning, and assessment.
• Teach PE across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and the school’s curriculum.
• Mentor and support a team of PE teachers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing department.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the PE department, ensuring it aligns with the school’s overall vision and goals.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning in PE , implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
• Oversee the department’s budget and resources.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Possesses a strong background in Physical Education or Sports Science, with a relevant degree from a reputable university
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Demonstrates a proven track record of successful PE teaching and leadership in a secondary school setting
• Is an enthusiastic and engaging leader with a genuine passion for sports and physical activity and a desire to inspire young minds
• Has excellent subject knowledge across a range of sports and coaching techniques.
• Is committed to fostering a love of learning and promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
• Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
