  • Teach D&T across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and the school’s curriculum.
  • Mentor and support a team of D&T teachers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing department.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the D&T department, ensuring it aligns with the school’s overall vision and goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning in D&T , implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the department’s budget and resources.
  • Promote design, technology, and engineering within the school and encourage student participation in related extracurricular activities, such as design competitions and STEM clubs.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses a strong academic background in Design & Technology , Engineering, or a related field, with a relevant degree from a reputable university
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Is a practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and its values.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of successful D&T teaching and leadership in a secondary school setting
  • Is an enthusiastic and engaging leader with a genuine passion for design and technology and a desire to inspire young minds
  • Has excellent subject knowledge across all key stages and D&T specialisms (e.g., resistant materials, product design, electronics, textiles)
  • Is committed to fostering a love of learning and promoting creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills in all students
