We have a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Surveyor – Gas, Heating and Heat Networks to join our team. As a technical specialist, you will play a key role in the operational delivery and compliance assurance of gas, heating, and communal heat network systems across our property portfolio. Reporting to the Building Compliance Manager – Gas and Heating, you will:
- Ensure gas, heating, and heat network systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with all statutory and regulatory requirements
- Plan, conduct, and quality assure statutory inspections, surveys, and remedial works
- Oversee gas, central heating, and associated plant, including communal heat networks
- Provide expert technical advice and guidance to internal teams and contractors
- Maintain accurate, audit‑ready compliance records
- Identify, manage, and elevate safety or compliance risks appropriately
What we are looking for:
- Substantial hands‑on experience conducting and overseeing gas and heating inspections across a variety of property types, including high‑risk residential buildings and heat network systems
- In‑depth knowledge of:
- Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998
- Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000
- Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations
- Relevant building and landlord legislation
- Familiarity with non‑gas and low‑carbon heating systems, communal heating, and heat networks within a social housing environment
- Recognised technical qualifications in gas engineering, mechanical engineering, building services or surveying (e.g. HNC/HND, BEng/BSc, Gas Safe registration)
- Experience working within regulated or high‑compliance environments
- Experience supporting internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
- Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development in gas and heating compliance
