We have an exciting opportunity for an Insight Officer to join our team. We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated professional who will bring our values to life and help ensure our customers receive outstanding services. Day in the life of an Insight Officer:
- As an Insight Officer, you’ll work within a specialist area of the business: Homes (property, investment and repairs), Care and Central Services, Customer Insight (understanding our customers and the services they use).
- You’ll be part of our Business Insight Team, playing a key role in delivering our refreshed approach to data and business intelligence.
Working closely with operational teams, you will:
- Provide expert advice on data and insight.
- Signpost colleagues to existing reports and identify opportunities for new analysis.
- Support the development of robust, high-quality business intelligence.
- Help shape a systematic framework for customer, property and service insight.
You’ll also focus on improving how we use data by:
- Identifying gaps in existing data through analysis.
- Working collaboratively to collect new data or improve accessibility.
- Supporting service design through clear, evidence-based insight.
In addition, you’ll contribute to strengthening our data governance by:
- Developing process maps to track data flows.
- Supporting the assignment of data ownership.
You’ll play an active role in modelling our values and helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging culture across the organisation.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in an analytical or data-focused role, including interpreting data and statistical information.
- Advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of tools such as Power BI.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload.
- Experience in process mapping.
- Understanding of data governance and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in research, including use of external data sources (e.g. census data).
- Proven ability to improve data quality and accessibility.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- A collaborative team player who can engage and inspire others.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience of delivering projects to improve data or processes.
- Understanding of challenges within the housing sector and relevant regulatory frameworks.
