What will you be doing? We are looking for an experienced volunteer to provide community and light administrative support across our non-profit. This role is ideal for someone with several years of experience in community management, coordination or administration, who enjoys creating positive, well-run spaces and supporting people to connect and engage. You will work closely with our small, purpose-led team, with your primary focus on stewarding and energising our Slack community. This is a free, open community for all supporters of workstyle, and your role will be to help maintain a welcoming, inclusive and active environment. This includes welcoming new members, sharing updates and opportunities, prompting thoughtful discussion, and helping conversations stay constructive and aligned with our values. Alongside this, you will provide light, ad hoc administrative support that helps the team stay organised and responsive.
Key responsibilities:
- Stewarding and nurturing our Slack community
- Welcoming new members and helping them feel oriented and included
- Posting updates, prompts and opportunities to encourage engagement
- Encouraging positive, professional and inclusive conversation
- Using experience and good judgement to maintain a healthy community tone
- Supporting light administrative and coordination tasks as needed
- Flagging questions, issues or opportunities to the core team
This is a personalised, remote role, with work largely done asynchronously. We value reliability and good communication. While the hours are flexible, a regular presence in the Slack community is important to help maintain momentum and connection. In return, you will be trusted with responsibility, work closely with a values-led non-profit, and play a key role in sustaining a thoughtful, engaged community focused on creating more inclusive, personalised ways of working.
