Use your professional graphic design or visual media expertise to support a UK non‑profit. This role requires at least three years’ professional experience and will help build our capacity to create high‑quality social media assets that amplify inclusive, personalised ways of working.
What difference will you make? You will be supporting the The Workstyle Revolution by expanding our reach and creating a happier, more fulfilled society through the world of work without bias.
What are we looking for?
- Skills/Experience
- Proficiency in design tools, ideally Canva.
- Portfolio showcasing design assets.
- Creativity and the ability to translate concepts into visually engaging designs.
What will you be doing? We are seeking an experienced volunteer with a minimum of three years’ professional experience in graphic design, illustration or media production to support our non‑profit’s social media communications. This role is specifically intended for volunteers who want to share their professional expertise to help build organisational capacity, rather than provide entry‑level or casual support. You will work with our small, purpose‑led team to create high‑quality visual assets for social media, primarily for LinkedIn and Instagram. While we have clear messaging and strategic intent, we do not currently have in‑house design capacity, and your contribution will directly strengthen the quality, consistency and effectiveness of our communications.
This role requires confidence working at a professional level. You should be comfortable interpreting briefs, applying brand judgement, managing your own workload, and delivering polished outputs with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone able to draw on their experience to advise on visual best practice where helpful, not just execute tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Designing professional‑quality visual graphics for social media channels
- Translating written content, campaign ideas or briefs into engaging visual assets
- Applying graphic design, illustration or media production expertise to create clear, impactful visuals
- Developing templates or simple visual systems to support consistency and efficiency
- Adapting designs for different formats, dimensions and platforms
- Ensuring all visual content is accessible, inclusive and aligned with our values
- Providing considered input on visual approach and design standards
Required experience areas
- Graphic design
- Illustration
- Media production, including video or audio for digital platforms
Experience working independently, meeting deadlines and collaborating with stakeholders is essential. While this is not a formal project or programme management role, you should be comfortable planning your work and delivering agreed outputs reliably. The role is flexible and remote, with work completed asynchronously. We aim to provide clear briefs, realistic timelines and a respectful, professional working relationship. In return, you will use your established skills to support a values‑led non‑profit, see your work used publicly, and help build lasting communications capability.
