Due to our clients ongoing success, they are looking to recruit a Foundry Operative, to assist in the day-to-day operations of the company’s anode casting operation, producing zinc and aluminium sacrificial anodes, as well as assisting with other production and machining tasks. This role is physically demanding, involving manual handling of heavy loads and working in a very hot environment with exposure to molten metals. Responsibilities Include: The melting process Spectrographic melt analysis The casting process Insert production Machine-shop operations including Hydraulic press operations, grinding and fettling Foundry and machine-shop housekeeping and maintenance Equipment and tooling maintenance and cleaning Packing and materials handling including Forklift operations Mould and special insert fabrication and welding Stock Control Ideal Candidate: Foundry experience (desirable) It is essential you are a team player for this role Attention to detail Be reliable (essential) Welding experience (desirable) Valid driver’s licence and counterbalance forklift truck licence (desirable) An understanding of health & safety legislation and operation in practice Pay & Benefits: £12.50 per hour.
