Are you an organised, detail-driven production professional who thrives on keeping manufacturing running smoothly? We're looking for a Production Controller to join our client and take ownership of production planning, materials control, and supplier coordination to ensure customer demands are met on time and at optimum cost.
The Role
You will manage the flow of materials and production from order receipt through to despatch, minimising shortages, backlog, and excess inventory while supporting operational efficiency and cash flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and control production schedules, releasing route cards to meet customer demand
- Manage purchasing and inventory levels in line with forecasts and budget targets
- Expedite internal and external suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
- Maintain accurate BOMs, production data, and stock records within the ERP system
- Raise rework and purchase orders in line with company procedures
- Support new product introduction and phase-out of obsolete products
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and data integrity issues
- Communicate availability, risks, and constraints clearly to Sales and Management
- Monitor product performance and validate material and labour costs
About You
- Experience in production control, planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident working with MRP/ERP systems and production data
- Proactive communicator able to manage suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Commercially aware with a focus on cost control and continuous improvement
