Due to growth, our client is looking for a new Design Technician to join their busy drawing office. This role provides an opportunity to work on projects from concept through to fabrication and installation, producing detailed technical drawings for steel structures across a range of sectors.
Responsibilities
- Produce general arrangement drawings, 3D models, detailed fabrication drawings, and bills of materials.
- Use Autodesk Advance Steel and AutoCAD to deliver accurate and high-quality designs.
- Interpret sales briefs and survey information to develop technical solutions.
- Liaise closely with internal sales, fabrication, and installation teams.
- Ensure drawings comply with engineering standards and project specifications.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout all design stages.
Requirements
- Professional experience using Autodesk Advance Steel and AutoCAD.
- Background in mechanical design, engineering principles, and steel structures.
- Ability to produce GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
- Strong management and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working under pressure.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport.
