The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 £ per year.

Location: 1‑2 days in our support centre per week. Hours: This role is working 33.75 hours per week. The working hours will be from 10am to 5:30pm, 5 days per week.

As the People Services Assistant reporting to the People Services Team Leader, you will support the People Team and our colleagues throughout the full colleague lifecycle journey. With strong communication skills and a willingness to learn, you will provide an excellent service to colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring smooth processes and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Issue offer letters and contracts to new colleagues and answer queries, escalating to a People Services Advisor when required.
  • Help set up new colleagues on our systems, including employee self‑service.
  • Maintain processes to ensure new colleagues receive excellent onboarding, welcome communications, ID badges, and uniform as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate organisational structure within relevant systems by executing the setup and deletion of roles, stores, and functions.
  • Process changes to personal and contractual details, including relevant updates to systems and communications to colleagues.
  • Support colleagues during important life moments such as maternity or paternity leave by providing timely and accurate query responses and communications.
  • Monitor the right to work of new colleagues to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, escalating as required.
  • Create and issue Confirmation of Employment letters for colleagues.
  • Maintain and update the ‘meet the team’ document.
  • Process new member requests for our Facebook group and remove leavers.
  • Respond to day‑to‑day queries raised by colleagues in multiple forms efficiently.
  • File documentation and process post and sending out of documents/equipment.
  • Provide accurate and timely data entry as required.
  • Deliver best‑in‑class service as measured by customer feedback.
  • Use a seamless escalation process through to the People Services Advisors and ER Team.
Skills and Behaviours
  • Basic HR knowledge and understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Experience in administration, managing various tasks and processes efficiently.
  • Experience with HR systems – iTrent is an asset but not essential.
  • Ability to support a busy function, juggling multiple responsibilities at once.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience within a large retailer or multi‑location business is a plus.
