About the Role
As Website Manager reporting into our Head of Brand Marketing, you bring Time Well Spent to life online. By shaping a content‑led, digital experience, you help families discover ideas that inspire them to read, learn, create and play — before they ever step into a store. Your work strengthens The Works’ brand story, highlights our ranges in an inspiring and accessible way, and guides customers to their local store where the magic happens. You connect teams across Brand, Creative, Tech and Buying to make our website a true expression of who we are: warm, creative, joyful and helpful. Through thoughtful UX, inclusive design, clear storytelling and seamless content journeys, you help turn everyday browsing moments into sparks of imagination — supporting colleagues, inspiring customers and championing our purpose at every touchpoint.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the website roadmap, aligned to business priorities.
- Collaborate with campaign and content teams to ensure website content supports the trading calendar and delivers against brand strategy.
- Manage digital product merchandising and range presentation, aligned to the company critical path.
- Support ongoing optimisation of website performance and customer engagement.
- Lead UX development and accessibility best practice, ensuring a high‑quality, inclusive experience.
- Own the SEO strategy for a content‑led website.
- Support re‑platforming initiatives.
Skills & Behaviours
- 3-5 years’ experience of managing a content led or non-transactional website.
- Experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Salesforce.
- Understanding of on‑page SEO, keyword optimisation, and technical SEO factors.
- Keep abreast of emerging online trends across content, UX and SEO, translating insight into meaningful improvements to the website experience.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS, with JavaScript knowledge preferred for troubleshooting.
- Experience leading web projects and managing external web agencies.
- Project Management Tools: Experience with tools like Monday.com, Miro.
- Passionate about brand, inspiration and customer experience.
- Highly organised, detail‑driven and confident working cross‑functional.
