Location Hybrid: 1-2 days at our Support Centre in Coleshill, Birmingham.

As our Cash Control Manager, you will confidently lead the daily reconciliation of all store payment transactions, ensuring The Works is protected against cash fraud at the store level. You will ensure reconciliation processes are fit for purpose, identifying any store issues immediately when differences arise. You will oversee all business bank accounts, reconciling them daily, manage the B2B sales ledger to minimise outstanding debit, handle web sales reconciliation, and manage employee expenses and credit cards. Leading a team of five, you’ll motivate and develop them, ensuring expertise is spread across the team and everyone can fulfil their potential. You’ll foster a strong customer service culture within the team to support our stores, B2B customers, and colleagues regarding expenses.

Your Mission

  • Manage & develop, lead your team with confidence through regular team meetings, one‑on‑ones, and training sessions.
  • Ensure cash control processes are robust and adaptable, having control over all aspects of cash, card, and bank accounts, evolving with business changes.
  • Operational efficiency, continuously review and challenge team workflows, striving for first‑time accuracy.
  • Project involvement, proactively support finance and wider business projects to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Performance monitoring, report and monitor KPIs for the Cash team, engaging the team to incrementally improve performance.
  • Effective communication, maintain strong communication within the finance team and with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading change, drive forward agreed initiatives within the finance team and wider business to successful conclusions.
  • Support the business, provide excellent customer service, addressing issues and general enquiries on financial processing matters.
