Our client is seeking a passionate Learning Disability Teacher Consultant to join their team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting students with learning disabilities, ensuring they receive the tailored educational experiences they deserve. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of fostering inclusive learning environments. Salary based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates as a member of the child study team in classifying children and developing Individualized Educational Programs (IEP).
  • Meets with Classroom Teachers and specialists to discuss the details and implementation of the IEPs of classified students.
  • Leads meetings between Child Study Teams and parents to interpret test results and develop IEPs.
  • Provides classroom teachers with a plan for carrying out diagnostic and prescriptive services to classified children in accordance with IEPs.
  • Coordinates and directs child study team meetings.
  • Plans with and advises the resource room and Special Education Teachers of instructional strategies for classified students.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of existing curriculum and remedial methods as a means of adapting district curriculum to the needs of classified children.
  • Assists classroom teachers with informal, diagnostic, and pre-referral procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Learning Disability Teacher Consultant in the State of NJ.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working with students with learning disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and special education laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with various teaching methodologies and technologies.
