We are looking for a Specialist Equipment Centre Operative to support the safe and efficient day-to-day running of our Specialist Equipment Centre in Stoke. This is a hands-on role where you will help prepare specialist equipment and customer orders, organise and store equipment, monitor stock levels, and assist with loading and unloading vehicles to ensure projects are delivered on time. You will also play a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment while supporting smooth operations across the site. This role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping things organised, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, check, clean, and store specialist equipment ready for hire and customer projects.
- Assist with assembling specialist equipment, including submersible pump setups and accessories.
- Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
- Carry out equipment checks and report any damage or missing items promptly.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and report low stock to the Supervisor/Manager.
- Keep all work areas clean, safe, and organised in line with Health & Safety standards.
- Assist with occasional deliveries and collections to support operational and project requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience within logistics or similar working environment.
- Reliability and good time keeping essential for this position.
- Ability to organise, prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Work well as part of a team.
- It’s vital that you’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment as you will be balancing multiple projects, whilst also working with several internal departments ensuring efficiency and strong output is achieved.
- Ability and willingness to travel within and throughout the UK as and when necessary.
- A full UK driving licence is required for this position as you will need to drive a company vehicle as and required.
- Forklift Licence would be preferred; however, training can be given to the right candidate.
