About The Role

We are looking for of Yard Supervisor to join our friendly team based our at our branch in Liverpool (Speke)

This role will provide vital support to the branch operations andwill be yard based supervising and assisting with various duties in conjunction with the loading and unloading of lorries to ensure timely delivery of our pumps and associated equipment in time to meet our customers expectations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To continually look for ways to improve Health & Safety and ways to make processes more efficient by reporting any hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents promptly and according to company reporting procedures.
  • To ensure the yards and workshops are in a clean, tidy and organised state at all times.
  • To assist with loading and unloading of vehicles, checking items against paperwork to ensure accuracy of deliveries and collections as well as missing, damages and fuel charges on collected equipment.
  • Carrying out Post Hires for equipment such as Pumps, Road Ramps, Drips Trays and any other fleeted items.
  • To organise hose and accessory item storage, to include keeping a check on levels available and to maintain communication with regards to the scrap stock that needs to be disposed of.
  • To assist all other members of the depot when required, with tasks as instructed, i. e. lifting, moving, in depot or on-site.
  • To help clean hire equipment prior to entry to workshop, using pressure washer equipment and to be responsible for the organisation of the kit and the yard team to clean the equipment.
  • To be polite and co-operative with all stakeholders, and, when out of branch, be aware of promoting the Company.
  • To be able to communicate accurately to your supervisor, work colleagues and customers re job specifications when required e. g.

ETA’s and missing and damaged items, obtaining signatures and names when delivering/collecting.

  • Ensure direct reports are trained and competent to complete their role and identify and highlight any gaps in knowledge to the Branch Manager/Assistant Branch Manager.
  • Daily checks of the yard to ensure it is a safe working environment and identifying potential hazards and risks and removing and reporting, as required.
  • Relay key information about movements on site (including toolbox talks) to the yard team and ensure it is being embedded into the ways of working.
  • To comply with all PPE requirements for Selwood or site regulations and ensure the yard team are also complying.
  • Carry out all given tasks as set out in the Company Policy Procedures as applicable.
  • Helping prepare, ancillaries and accessories for all jobs going out on hire.
  • Stock-checks to be carried out once a week minimum, or as required for the branch.
  • To carry out small deliveries and collections to or from customer’s sites, suppliers or inter branch.
  • To maintain the stocking of gasket, Nut & Bolt sets
  • Flexibility to support the team by working overtime as and when required by the business, this can include evenings and weekends.
  • To participate in the on-call rota, if required by the branch to meet business deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous work history within a similar environment
  • Good communicator with a can do attitude.
  • Experience in working in a team with supervising experience preferred.
  • Forklift Licence would be preferred.
  • Rigger, loading or banksman training would be advantageous.
  • Reliability is essential for this position.
  • Basic use of Office Suite
  • Physically fit due to the nature of the work within this role.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
