About The Role

We are looking to welcome a Branch Manager to our Conwy branch due to internal progression. The Branch Manager will play a key role in the growth of Selwood by ensuring the branch meets and exceeds its plan and objectives, supporting the national pump rental business and working closely with other departmental functions. The role requires strong business management experience, leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to excellent service delivery.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead by example, ensuring company administration, quality assurance, health, safety, and environmental policies are fully adhered to and that all activities comply with our policies and relevant regulations and statutory legislation.
  • Promote a positive and resilient health and safety culture, working closely with the SHEQ Department, departmental heads, and employees to minimise risk of illness and injury.
  • Provide strong leadership, develop a high‑performing team, set clear objectives, and foster continuous improvement within the team.
  • Recruit and develop employees through training, coaching, and honest feedback, ensuring the right people are capable and engaged to deliver business objectives.
  • Drive growth, maximise sales and profitability, and lead customer experience strategies.
  • Regularly review area performance with Hire Managers and Foremen using KPI measures.
  • Engage with local sales teams, solutions, and central departments, maintaining proactive communication with all stakeholders.
  • Maximise returns from hire fleet assets by continuously reviewing equipment and ensuring the efficient use of transport within the area.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Successful experience managing a team with strong leadership, coaching, and motivation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, give sound feedback, and adapt decisively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven background in leading an operational area, driving growth, maximising sales and profitability, and aligning objectives with regional goals.
  • Experience leading and demanding a health & safety culture with total compliance.
  • Experience in the Hire Industry is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to encourage teams and raise standards within the business.
  • High level of computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the territory and throughout the UK as necessary.
