We are looking for experienced, professional and highly organised Freelance Event Managers to manage corporate food and drink events across London. Our events range from corporate lunches and staff celebrations to drinks receptions, networking events, canapé parties and larger company functions. You will act as our on-site Event Manager, taking responsibility for the smooth delivery of the event and representing our company professionally in front of the client. This is ideal for an experienced freelance Event Manager who enjoys taking ownership of an event and is confident managing catering teams, waiting staff, suppliers and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Arriving at the venue ahead of the event and taking responsibility for the site
- Meeting and liaising with the client or venue contact
- Receiving catering equipment, food, drinks and other event supplies
- Coordinating unloading, setup and preparation
- Briefing chefs, waiting staff, bar staff and other event personnel
- Ensuring food and drinks service is delivered according to the agreed schedule
- Managing canapé, buffet, street-food, bowl-food and drinks services
- Maintaining excellent presentation and service standards throughout the event
- Monitoring staffing levels and allocating duties where required
- Liaising with kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Dealing calmly and professionally with any problems that arise
- Ensuring dietary requirements and allergen procedures are followed
- Maintaining appropriate food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards
- Keeping the client informed and ensuring they are happy with the service
- Managing breakdown and ensuring equipment is correctly packed and accounted for
- Completing a brief post-event report where required
About You
- Experienced in corporate events, hospitality, catering or event management
- Confident managing an event independently
- Comfortable leading temporary and freelance hospitality teams
- Extremely organised and able to work to detailed event schedules
- Friendly, presentable and professional when dealing with corporate clients
- Calm under pressure and capable of solving problems quickly
- Experienced with food and beverage service
- Familiar with food hygiene, allergens and health & safety procedures
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working long event days when required
Experience working at London corporate venues, offices, private events or premium catering operations would be particularly useful.
