We’re looking for brilliant people to join the Front of House team at The Woolpack Inn. The Woolpack is a little different. We’re an independent inn with a market garden, award-winning food and a real passion for hospitality. We grow produce ourselves, care deeply about where our ingredients come from and take enormous pride in what we put on the plate. But great food is only part of the experience. For us, hospitality is about making people feel genuinely welcome. It’s about knowing when to have a chat, when to give guests space, noticing the little things and making sure everyone who visits the Woolpack leaves having had a great time.

We’re looking for Front of House team members who are friendly, enthusiastic and genuinely interested in hospitality. You might already have experience working in a restaurant, pub, hotel or other hospitality environment. Or you might be looking for your first role in the industry. Experience is great, but attitude matters more. We want people who are curious about food and drink, enjoy talking to people and take pride in doing things properly. You’ll be part of a team that cares about the details — from the produce coming out of our market garden, to the food leaving the kitchen, to the way a guest is welcomed when they walk through the door.

As part of our Front of House team, you’ll help bring the whole Woolpack experience to life. Your role will include:

  • Welcoming guests and making them feel at home
  • Taking food and drink orders and delivering friendly, knowledgeable service
  • Talking confidently about our menus, ingredients and drinks
  • Sharing the story behind our market garden and seasonal produce
  • Looking after guests throughout their visit
  • Working closely with the kitchen and wider team during service
  • Keeping the restaurant, bar and guest areas clean, organised and beautifully presented
  • Helping service run smoothly, even when things get busy
  • Learning about our food, wine and drinks and continually developing your knowledge
  • Anticipating what guests need and going the extra mile whenever you can

You’ll fit right in if you...

  • Love people and enjoy making guests feel welcome
  • Have a genuine interest in food, drink and hospitality
  • Take pride in what you do
  • Are naturally warm, friendly and attentive
  • Enjoy working as part of a close team
  • Stay calm and positive when service gets busy
  • Are curious and keen to learn
  • Have high standards without taking yourself too seriously
  • Understand that the best hospitality often comes from the small details

You don't need to know everything on day one. We can teach you the Woolpack way. What we can't teach as easily is enthusiasm, warmth and a genuine desire to look after people.

We want The Woolpack to be somewhere that’s enjoyable to work and somewhere you can grow. As part of the team, you’ll benefit from:

  • Working in a unique independent inn with our own market garden
  • Being part of an award-winning food and hospitality business
  • A friendly, supportive team environment
  • Opportunities to develop your food, drink and hospitality knowledge
  • Staff discount on food and drink
  • The chance to learn from an experienced team and develop your career in hospitality

Because you’ll be working somewhere where the food and hospitality actually mean something. Our market garden means you’ll be close to the ingredients we grow ourselves. Our award-winning food means you’ll be working alongside a kitchen team that takes real pride in what it creates. And our approach to hospitality means you’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge, your confidence and your understanding of what makes a really memorable guest experience. We’re building a team of people who care about the place they work, care about their colleagues and care about the people who come through our doors.

If you’re passionate about hospitality, love good food and want to work somewhere a little bit special, we’d love to hear from you. You don’t have to be the finished article. You just need to care. Bring your personality, your enthusiasm and your willingness to learn — we’ll help you develop the rest. Come and be part of The Woolpack.
