Are you aged 16–25? Passionate about nature and climate? This opportunity is for you.
At the Woodland Trust, we believe young people are central to tackling the climate crisis—but we also know there aren’t enough opportunities for you to get involved in nature-based action. That’s why we’ve created a flexible volunteer role designed just for you.
As a Youth Advocate, you’ll help shape what we do for woods, people, and the planet. This is a light-touch, ad hoc role with no minimum time commitment. We’ll simply reach out when opportunities come up—things like consultation meetings, learning sessions, events, and other ways you can make your voice heard.
Who can apply?
Anyone aged 16–25, based in the community (online role).
Why we want you
You’ll help us in our mission to create a UK rich in native woods and trees, where people and wildlife can thrive—by making sure young voices are part of the conversation and decision-making.
What you’ll do
- Join conversations with our youth team and other Woodland Trust staff to share your views on campaigns, policies, branding, and more
- Get invited to special events, campaigns, and competitions
- Stay informed with updates on the environmental sector and our work
What you’ll need
- A passion for nature and the outdoors
- An inclusive, open mindset when working with others
- Good communication skills
- Access to the internet (we can support accessibility needs—just let us know!)
What’s in it for you
- Learn about the environmental and charity sectors
- Connect with like-minded young people
- Make a real difference while being inspired and empowered
Got questions or need support to get involved? Reach out—we’re here to help.
